Vol. 08 / Strategy Studio / Est. 2017

The Four Partners.

Two from R/GA. Two from Pentagram. One studio, founded in 2017 on a single discipline: every engagement is led by a partner, never delegated to a junior. Below: the roster, in the order they joined the house.

The Roster — 04 Partners, 00 Juniors

Four distinct points of view. One line of sight to senior thinking on every engagement.

We don't have a "team page" because we don't have a team in the agency sense. The four people below are the four people who do the work — supported by two fractional collaborators on illustration and motion when a project genuinely needs them. No layer between you and the thinking.

  1. 01Founder · Partner

    Maren Ostrowski

Former Strategy Director, R/GA New York (2011–2017).

"Strategy is the discipline of saying no to nine ideas so the tenth one has room to land."

    • Apple
    • Headspace
    • Sweetgreen
    • Google Brand Studio
  2. 02Founder · Partner

    Theo Vance

Former Senior Strategist, Pentagram New York (2013–2017).

"A brand is a verb before it's a noun. Most decks treat it like a noun."

    • Nike
    • MoMA Design Store
    • Master & Dynamic
    • Warby Parker
  3. 03Partner

    Imani Ferreira

Former Brand Strategist, R/GA San Francisco (2014–2019).

"The brief is a hypothesis. The work is the test. Most agencies run them in the wrong order."

    • Sweetgreen
    • Allbirds
    • Headspace
    • Calm
  4. 04Partner

    Jules Tanaka-Brennan

    Former Strategist, Pentagram London (2015–2020).

"Identity is what survives the meeting after you leave the room. Everything else is presentation."

    • Apple
    • Nike
    • Diageo
    • Hemlock & Hare
A Note on the House

Four partners. Two fractional collaborators on illustration and motion, brought in only when a project earns it. No account directors, no associate strategists, no interns. The thinking is the product, and the people who do the thinking are the four people you'll meet in the kickoff.

"We turned down 31% of the inbound we got in 2024. Not because the founders weren't smart — they were. Because the brief wasn't ready for senior thinking yet, and the worst thing a senior can do is pretend it is."

— Maren Ostrowski, on capacity

Between them, the four partners have shipped work for Apple, Nike, Headspace, and Sweetgreen — alongside 43 other brands we won't name-drop, because we weren't the ones who led those engagements.

Since 2017, every project has been partner-led. We don't pyramid, we don't staff-and-forget, and we don't sell you a senior in the pitch and a junior in the delivery. The discipline is the product. The product is the discipline.
